The stamina of the man was just incredible. 300+ shows a year until his mid to late 80’s. Man alive what a gift.

He was genuinely such a nice guy, too. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting him when I lived in Memphis years ago. It was a place on Beale and I got to listen to him reminisce about the early days of the Delta Blues for about 20 minutes before he was called away. That was a good day.
